A beautiful mix of vibrant shades of orange, pink, purple, red, white & yellow. Iceplant is drought tolerant & makes an excellent groundcover, creates colorful borders & works well in containers, perfect for dry slopes, rock gardens, or other dry & sunny locations. These plants may reseed themselves in favorable growing conditions. To do this mix the seeds with moist sand & place in a container in the refrigerator for 30-60 days. You are faking the cold winter season so they are triggered to grow in spring! Indoor Sow: 6- 8 weeks before last frost then transplant after danger of frost has passed. Direct Sow: Planting should take place in late fall (dormant) 6-8 weeks before first heavy freeze or in early spring with cold stratification (see above note). Broadcast seeds & tamp down, seeds need light to germinate. Keep moist until established, then dry to moderate water. Harvest: once plants are established you can cut some anytime - use fresh or hang to dry. Choose stems with flowers that have just opened. Strip the foliage that will fall below the water level, & place in water immediately.
