This is a lovely original antique item. Medicine glasses & minim measures like these remained standard pieces of equipment for decades. They were used for accurately measuring out liquid medicines. A minim was a measurement used by apothecaries, equivalent to one drop of water. This comes in its original box - marked Medicine Glass & Minim Measure on the top in a lovely font for the London Medical Supply Assoc. The box is in lovely condition & opens beautifully to reveal the measurer with etched measurements. It measures Spoons in wonderful etching & has an advert on the other side for Aldwych Pharmacy. The middle part also has a gold font top & this removes to reveal a cunningly hidden minim measure which fits snugly - also etched for drops with a pouring lip.. This is a lovely collectable item in lovely antique condition & rare to be so complete. The box is in very good condition with inside very bright & clean as shown. The glass parts are in lovely bright condition with a nice bubble running down the larger piece. As a vintage or antique item, it will show signs of age & patina.
