Early Snowball Cauliflower produces uniformly shaped, Snow White heads that are thick & solid with tight curds. They thrive in early & late crops. This cauliflower is somewhat self-blanching which means that the outer leaves will curl up & around the cauliflower head to protect it from the elements, although some growers still tie up the leaves around the head to protect it. They are best grown in the cooler portions of the growing season. Mildew tolerant. Annual.. How to Grow Start seeds indoors in a soil-less mix 5 weeks before last frost date. Or sow directly in the garden in late spring & again in mid August for multiple harvests. Sow seeds 6 mm (1/4) deep & keep at 20 C (70F) for germination. Grow on at slightly cooler temperatures & harden off before Transplanting to outdoors in late May placing them 30cm (12) apart & in rows 45cm (18) apart. When the heads start to form, gather the outer leaves & tie them up & around the cauliflower head to protect it.
