PUMPKIN ZHDANA a new variety developed by Ukrainian breeders. One of the best table varieties. The pulp is thick, tender, orange, very sweet, the fruit is segmented, flattened (stronger near the stalk, less at the top of the fruit). The average weight is 4.4-6.3 kg, the weight of individual fruits reaches 11-13 kg. The color of the peel is light gray; it turns red during storage. The pulp is red-orange, thick (6.0-9.0 cm), sweet. The seeds are very large. The optimal ratio of the content of sugars & acids in pumpkin makes it possible to use it raw, as well as for processing into juice, puree, chips, etc. Its fruits contain 13-16% dry matter, 8-10% sugars & 10-12% carotene. The palatability of this pumpkin fruit is estimated at 4.8-5.0 points. Pumpkin Zhdana - weakly affected by powdery mildew & Bashtanovy popelite, which is especially important, the fruits are stored for a long time (more than 150 days).
