It is a great plant for adding to prairie type plantings, cottage gardens, borders & rockeries. It does well in well drained & moist sites in full sun at the front to middle of the border, but is quite tolerant of other soil types & moisture. It grows to 40 - 60cm high & across, forming clumps of slender green felted leaves which produce tall flowering spikes with clusters of 1’’ wide bright orange-red flowers.
