This means that it is dyed exclusively with water-soluble dyes resulting in a finish that retains the hide’s natural surface. The thickness of this leather can vary from 2 - 2.2 mm. Veg-Tan leather is 100% Vegetable Tanned. This is the most eco-friendly tanning method & uses no dyes, leaving the leather its natural color. Veg-Tan will patina over time (see our color chart in the listing photos) & shows traces of exposure to elements such as body oils, dirt, scrapes, heat, sunlight, & moisture making each piece truly one-of-a-kind. The thickness of this leather can vary from 1.2 - 1.6 mm & has a rigid nature.
