Presented is a charming pair of antique German 800 purity silver salt & pepper shakers, dating to the late 1800s or early 1900s. The shakers are made in the form of a boy & girl in Dutch garb, both leaned forward with their hands behind their backs so they kiss when stood face-to-face. The shakers are nicely detailed & expressive, I particularly like the traditional ‘wooden’ clog shoes. The shakers are a nice heavy weight, with a great feeling of quality in the hand. This pair is in excellent overall condition. The gold wash has become a bid faded with age, but at least it’s very consistent. There are no splits, no dents, no breaks, no monograms, no monogram removals, & no repairs. Both shakers are hallmarked with the German crescent moon & crown as well as 800 for the purity of the silver. The boy stands about 3 3/4 inches tall, while the girl stands about 3 5/8 inches tall. The total weight for the pair is 217 grams or 7.7 regular ounces. -jm Cute Pair Antique German 800 Silver Dutch Boy & Girl Salt Pepper Shakers
