Quantity: 10 Seeds Species: Capsicum Chinense Scovilles: 450,000 Caribbean Red is one of the most delicious habaero varieties out there. Not only are these peppers very hot, but they offer an excellent flavour & aroma. The plants grow to be about 2.5 feet tall, & 2 feet wide, & are very prolific. If your heat tolerance allows, the pods taste amazing fresh, but they’re typically used in cooking dishes & also to make a great hot sauce. The pods can be dried & ground into powder too. These peppers are potent, so a little goes a long way! Starting Instructions: Its best to start Caribbean Red Habaero pepper seeds as early in the season as possible; we start them here on the farm in January. It’s good to sow them in a sterile growing medium; most available seed starting soils should do the job nicely; we use sunshine mix (peat moss & perlite). The soil should be made moist, but not damp. Sow the seeds 1/8 - 1/4 inch below the soil surface. Store in a warm area until tiny sprouts emerge from the soil. A heat mat aids in this step, but is not necessary. Seeds can take between 4-8 weeks to germinate, but they can sometimes take less time too. Once germinated, & the first true leaf has formed, it’s time to pot up to a larger container that contains a good quality potting soil. Transplant to their final location when the nighttime temperatures are consistently 10oC or higher. Due to This variety’s compact size, these peppers are perfectly suited for growing in pots or containers; I recommend using a 5 gallon pot or larger. These peppers do best when grown in full sun. All seeds are organic & open pollinated.
