The melon belongs to the cucurbit family, like watermelon, pumpkin & cucumbers. The Canary Yellow Melon 2 is a Spanish variety of oval shape weighing about 1.5 kg. This yellow melon has a white flesh with a slightly crunchy texture. Juicy, not very sweet & refreshing, this kind of melon is often used to make sorbets. The Canary 2 yellow melon can also be used in desserts, fruit salads or smoothies. Sowing: March to May. Harvest: June to September. We advise you to trellis the plant so that it grows in height to gain space in the ground. For that, you will have to provide you with a trellis & to sow seeds at the foot of this one every 80 cm. Hang your melons as you go along with a string. Sow in a sunny place & make sure that the temperature does not fall below 15oC if you decide to grow your yellow melons outside. Harvest your melons 2 months after transplanting, as soon as your fruits are formed, colored & perfumed. The melon is greedy in water & must be watered without wetting the foliage.
