Enamel & Overlayed Glass Bottle A very attractive scent or smelling salts bottle dating around 1900 & probably Bohemian in origin. It is of torpedo shape & has a clear glass body overlayed in ruby glass then cut back to the pattern you can see. The cap is white metal with guilloche enamel in red & has a suspension loop to allow use as a pendant or on a chatelaine. There is no internal stopper & the opening is relatively wide, so this example may have been intended for smelling salts rather than perfume & would be used rather like a vinaigrette. Condition Very good for period, enamel has survived remarkably well. Minor wear to the body, slightly rough around the opening inside. Cap screws on very well.
