A ball made from seeds, clay, peat-free compost and chili powder. Why use Seedballs? • The ball prevents the seeds from being a tasty lunch for birds and insects, thereby increasing the chances of your flowers growing. Plus they’re super easy to use, no digging and no expert knowledge needed! How do I use Seedballs? • Throw onto soil or compost in a garden bed or planter in Spring or Autumn, leaving at least 10cm between each ball. Your Seedball has everything it needs to grow and, once the ball becomes moist and the temperature is right, your seeds will germinate! Each seed box is made from 100% recycled card, and contains 6 wildflower seed balls packed with bee and butterfly friendy seeds (forget-me-not, red campion, yarrow, purple loosestrife, musk mallow and cornflower). A little card is also included which explains what the balls are and how to use them.We make the balls ourselves from a mixture of UK wildflower seeds, clay, peat-free compost and chilli powder. The outer clay protects means that the seeds are inaccessible to ants & birds, and once sufficient water has permeated the clay, the seeds inside begin to germinate - helped along by the nutrients and minerals contained within the ball. The chilli powder continues to deter slugs and snails while the seed ball slowly degrades and the seeds sprout.Seed balls are incredibly easy to use - simply scatter on top of soil or compost (no digging or expertise required!) and nature will do the rest! One box will cover 1-2 pots.
